FOCUS AREA: PUBLIC SERVICE 

Emmalyn Kirby is a MPA candidate at the University of Washington’s (UW) Daniel J Evans School of Public Policy and Governance with a focus in policy analysis and program evaluation. Currently, Emmalyn works for the Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs as the Americorps VetCorps Navigator at the UW Bothell in Veteran Services. She is the co-lead Student Ambassador for the Evans School and  Graduate Representative for the UW’s Student Veterans of America chapter.  Prior, Emmalyn served on active duty from 2012-2016 in the United States Navy as a Petty Officer Second Class Operations Specialist -- receiving a Navy Achievement Medal. She currently serves in the Navy Reserves. She aspires to have a career in public service to impact the quality of services, programs, and policies that affect our nation’s veterans’.
