FOCUS AREA: PUBLIC POLICY AND VETERANS ADVOCACY

Omar is a Marine Corps veteran awarded two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals during his service as an Infantryman from 2010 to 2016. While serving, he was in the Fleet Anti-Terrorism Security Team and 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion. Majoring in Political Science at the University of Southern Maine, he also served as the President of the Student Veterans of America, USM chapter. Omar is also a member of the SVA Policy Liaison Program and was selected for the High Ground Veterans Advocacy Fellowship in January 2018.
